The elementary art program at Providence provides activities in drawing, painting, art history, sculpture, printmaking, and crafts. The program is sequentially developed on disciplined based art education and is aligned with the state and county curriculum for visual arts. Art concepts are taught through activities based on the suggested county pacing guide and set vocabulary.

Art instruction lends itself to integration with other subject areas. The purposes of these activities in the art room are to help students develop awareness of and appreciation for the skills in communicating through art and a feeling of pride and satisfaction in their work.

Blended learning and multicultural activities are infused into the art curriculum. Art at Providence Elementary School gives students the opportunity to develop an interest in art appreciation and to develop critical and creative thinking skills in a hands-on learning environment.
