Thursday, February 27th 
  • The following students have items in the front office to be picked up: Elias Bruch, Tye Som, Jayna Weber and Bella Cox
  • The boys basketball team defeated Eastern View last night with a score of 95 to 48. Diel Lacks led the way with 17 points. Walker Posey chipped in 14 points and Jack Wittenbraker added 9 points! The chiefs will play in the regional semi finals versus Lousia at home Friday night following the girls game. Come support!
  • The Lady Chiefs defeated Chancellor last night by a score of 72 to 29. The Chiefs were led by Jordan Hodges who had 22 points, Sydney Clayton who had 11 points and 14 rebounds, and SyAna Archie who added 10 points and 8 rebounds. Come out Friday night to support the girls as they take on Eastern View in the regional semifinals at 6.
  • Come out tomorrow night and support the girls and boys in the regional semifinals at home. Game time is 5:45 for girls and 7:15 for the boys! Go Chiefs!

  • Good luck to the boys & girls swim teams as they compete in the state championships tomorrow at swimRVA. Half of the boys and girls teams qualified for state championships, and should do really well in the meet. Go Chiefs!!!!

  • Hola Spanish students! La Feria will feature a jeopardy competition as well as many other exciting games and workshops! Go register with your Spanish teacher for a fun, exciting experience! The deadline for registration is February 28th so be sure to register as soon as possible!

  • Tomorrow is Throwback Thursday! This week we are throwing back to the 1990’s. Break out your baggy clothes, grunge, Doc Martens, and colorful track suits.


Tuesday, February 18th

  • Congratulations to the boys swim team for capturing their first regional title on Friday night. Individual highlights include Ryan Hufford taking first in the 200 freestyle, Xavier Raymondson winning the 100 butterfly and claiming second in the 200 IM and top 5 finishes in the 50 freestyle from Gavin Keane, Marc Macomson, and Andrew Johns. The second half of the meet saw continued success with Tim Higgins taking 2nd in the 100 breaststroke and 100 freestyle, Ryan Hufford and Marc Macomson placing top 5 in the 100 backstroke, and Landon Ellis getting 2nd in the 500 free and 100 butterfly. In addition to individual success, the boys won all three relay events.
  • The girls continued their dominance capturing their 3rd straight Regional title. Like the boys, they swept first place in all three relays. Individually, the girls were on fire winning all but two events. Pacing the Chiefs was Shannon Dillman with firsts in the 500 free and 200 IM, Angela Ritchie with a second in the IM and 1st in the100 butterfly, and Kelsey Peel with a first place in the 50 freestyle and 100 backstroke. Abigail Bunting had top 5 finishes in the 100 backstroke and 50 freestyle and Allie Pickles finished top 5 in the 50 and 100 free. Maddie Wallin won the 200 free and finished 2nd in the 100 backstroke. Bella Paterson had top 5 finishes in the 200 free and 500 free while Carleigh Dillman had top 5 finishes in 500 free and 100 butterfly. Campbell Garrett and Rachael Brown finished off the meet for the Chiefs with top 5 finishes in the 100 breaststroke.  The teams look to continue their success in the pool on Saturday at State Championships. Go Chiefs!
  • The #3 Lady Chiefs defeated #2 James River on Friday night with a score of 71-49! The Chiefs were led by Jordan Hodges who knocked down 31 points! Lena Lee contributed 16 points and 7 rebounds while Kaira Winston added 10 points. This victory gives the chiefs an outstanding 20-2 regular season record! Great job girls!

Friday, February 14th 
  • Happy Valentines Day!!! Pack the gym tonight for the Chiefs/Rapids basketball double header. The girls host the 20-1 Rapids at 5:45 and afterwards the boys will pick up their 2nd win against James River!!! Nothing says I love you more than a big student section cheering us on. Good luck and Go Chiefs!
  • Monacan Students only can buy student tickets for tonight’s games at lunch today for $3. After lunch, tickets go to normal price.
  • Congratulations to our girls JV basketball team on a great season. Last night’s victory over James River gave them a 13-1 record for the season. Great job ladies.
  • Beauty and the Beast auditions (our spring musical) will be Feb. 19-21. You don't need to prepare anything. We'll teach you something from the show.
  • Reminder for students interested in taking Service Learning next year-the application is due today to Ms. Wilczewski, in room 144.
