Wednesday, October 17th 
  • Our French Club meeting this month is today after school and it’s a Monster Party ooh la la! Come join us for the fun, food and crafts in Madame Catchick’s room from 3:10-4:15 p.m.
  • Art Club will be decorating pumpkins Thursday Oct. 18 after school in room 319. 
  • K-Pop club will meet this Thursday from 3 to 4 in Room 110.
  • Come to the Spanish club Dia de los Muertos Celebration Friday October 26 from 3-3:45! Bring your dues and or T shirt money!
  • ASL Club meets today in the library!
  • National Art Honor Society dues MUST be turned in by THIS FRIDAY to get a shirt at our next meeting on Oct. 23rd!
  • Have you ever wanted to write a book? Come to National Novel Writing Month meeting Oct. 24th!
  • Attention Ecology Club Members: We will be meeting today immediately after school in room 130 to paint storm drains!
  • A swim team interest meeting will be this Thursday, the 18th, at 3 in room 204 for students interested in swim team.
  • There will be a Young Republicans meeting this Friday after school in room H-5! We will have a guest speaker discussing involvement in political campaigns and a career in politics!
  • Powderpuff has been rescheduled for Thursday, October 25! Players and cheerleaders - we will have one last practice on Wednesday, October 24 after school from 3-4. 
  • Guitar Club will have its first meeting this Thursday, October 18th. Please bring any stringed instrument, but nothing electric.
  • ALL DECA Membership Dues must be paid by Thursday, October 18th. There will be a DECA Members ONLY Meeting Friday October 19th after school in room 327.

Tuesday, October 16
  • Our French Club meeting this month is Wednesday October 17th after school and it’s a Monster Party ooh la la! Come join us for the fun, food and crafts in Madame Catchick’s room from 3:10-4:15 p.m.
  • Attention all students: There will be a Psych Club interest meeting today at 3:00 in room 120. All students are invited to attend. 
  • Art Club will be decorating pumpkins Thursday Oct. 18 after school in room 319. Today is the deadline to sign up.
  • Attention Sophomores and Juniors who have an interest in Dance, Instrumental Music, Vocal Music, Theater and Visual Arts. If you are interested in the Summer Residential Governor’s School programs for these fields, please sign up in the School Counseling office and Mrs. Snyder will provide you more details.
  • Beta members please come tomorrow morning at 7:45 to Mrs. Porters room to work on our service project.
  • There will be a RAMPS meeting after school today in room 313.
  • Attention: Current and Former Latin Students, If you want to join the fun of Latin Club this year and have not yet signed up, come to room 316 TODAY to do so. Membership numbers must be finalized by tomorrow. Latin Club will meet on Thursday, Oct. 18th at 3 pm in room 316. Be There!

Monday, October 15th

  • For those students wishing to pursue a career in the military, the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB)/military exam will be administered this Tuesday, October 16, 2018 at 8:35 in room 201. Please see your school counselor to sign-up. 
  • Attention all boy basketball players, both JV and Varsity. Tonights open gym is cancelled. We will have open gym on Wednesday and Thursday nights at 7:30.
  • "Don't Forget! Our next FCCLA meeting will be Tuesday, that's tomorrow, during Monacan Morning in Mrs. Peacock's room, 329. Please bring your $20 dues (which includes your club shirt and national dues). Anyone who missed last week's meeting is welcome!"

  • Congratulations to the Marching Chiefs on their performance Saturday at the Midlothian Invitational! They received trophies for 2nd place guard, 2nd place drums, 2nd place music, 2nd place marching, 1st place general effect, and 2nd place overall in class 4A. And their overall score was an 89 - 8 points higher than their 81 at Hermitage! Way to go Marching Chiefs!

  • If it is not raining, come out and support your Monacan Field Hockey team as they take on Powhatan. It is a pink out and there will be a 50-50 raffle to support of breast cancer awareness. JV starts at 5:30 and Varsity at 7. 

Wednesday, October 10th 
  • Beta Club- the October meeting is a video meeting posted in google classroom. You need to make sure you have joined and watched the meeting no later than Friday October 12th to get credit for the October meeting.
  • There will be a Young Republicans meeting TODAY after school in room H-5! We will have a speaker from the Dave Brat campaign here to present opportunities to get involved in this November's election.
  • Anyone interested in being on the swim team for this coming year should come to an informational meeting on Thursday October 11th right after school in room 204. Information regarding tryouts and the team this year will be given out at that time
  • The Junior Class Ring Ceremony will take place tomorrow during 2nd period. Students receiving rings will be given a pass to attend the ring ceremony. 
  • The Monacan golf team concluded its season yesterday with a solid performance at the State Tournament in Williamsburg. Scoring for the Chiefs were Quint Dingledine, Brayden Latham, Luke Neale, and in his last Monacan match, Class of 2019 Zach Long. Way to go Chiefs!!

  • Attention all boys trying out for basketball. Tonight JV boys open gym is cancelled and varsity open gym will be in the auxilary gym at 7:30.
  • There is a meeting for all students interested in participating on the Monacan High Wrestling Team in Room 324 during Monacan Morning today. You MUST go by Coach Tucker’s room to get a Monacan morning pass in order to attend this meeting.

  • Congratulations to the golf team for finishing 2nd in the Regional tournament yesterday to advance to the State Tournament in Williamsburg next Tuesday. Scoring in the Regional Match were Quint Dingledine, Ben Maxwell, Brayden Latham, Zach Long, and Luke Neale. Way to go Chiefs!!
