2 Hr Early Release Today 10/11/2018

posted Oct 11, 2018, 8:29 AM by Charlene Downing

Team Chesterfield members,

Chesterfield County Public Schools will release two hours early today due to a changing weather forecast.

The latest weather forecasts indicate a more northerly track of Hurricane Michael that is projected to result in 4-6 inches of rain, localized flooding and higher winds and gusts than originally projected yesterday. Our region also is now under a tornado watch as well.

As a result of this change, all buildings are expected to be empty by 5 p.m. ALL after-school and evening activities are cancelled.

Here is today’s new dismissal schedule:

  • 12:05 p.m.: Middle schools (with the exception of Tomahawk Creek)
  • 12:15 p.m.: Bensley, Bon Air, Crenshaw, Clover Hill, Jacobs Road and Wells elementary schools
  • 1 p.m.: All high schools, Tomahawk Creek Middle, and Alberta Smith, Chalkley, Grange Hall, Matoaca and Salem Church elementary schools
  • 1:55 p.m.: All remaining elementary schools

We will continue to monitor the forecast and impact of this afternoon/tonight’s storm as it relates to Friday’s operating schedule.

Thank you for your continued support of Chesterfield County Public Schools.
