Spelling Bee

What a great spelling bee we had today!  We are proud of all the spellers for their performances today and for the character they displayed throughout the bee.  Congratulations goes to Colin Knaupp, winner of this year's Midlothian Middle School Spelling Bee! Colin will represent us on January 30th against top spellers from Chesterfield County. Good luck, Colin!

MMS Yearlong Drama Partnering with Hanover High!

Midlothian Middle School's Yearlong Drama class will partner with Hanover High School's Theatre Department to develop and perform an original play based on Salvaged Pages, a stirring collection of diaries written during the Holocaust by young people ages 12 to 22.  The play will be presented at the Weinstein Jewish Community Center in Richmond in celebration of Yom Hashoah, Holocaust Remembrance Day on April 11, 2018 at 7pm.  Tickets are $10 for members and $12 for non-members.

Boys Basketball

The boys' basketball team lost in a tough home game against Manchester Middle School on Friday afternoon. They have three more games left, including a home game against Elizabeth Davis Middle this today after school. Come out to support your Mustangs today as they look to begin their strong close to the season!

Reading Club

Attention all Reading Club members! Our scheduled meeting for this Thursday is being moved to next Thursday, the 25th of January. Come to the meeting next Thursday the 25th ready to discuss our January book “A Night Divided” by Jennifer Nielsen.

School wide Spelling Bee

What fantastic spelling bees we had yesterday! Congratulations to all spellers who won their class bees and represented their peers in the grade level bees. They conquered words like labyrinthine, pestiferous, and putrefaction. 

The top two finishers for each grade will meet on Tuesday for the school bee. Wish these students luck for next week!

Ecology Club

Ecology Club Members:

We are meeting Tuesday, January 16 in Room 204 after school.  We will be making pine cone bird feeders.  Have your ride pick up at 4:30.

The Midlothian Boys' Basketball team lost in a tough road game against Salem Middle yesterday afternoon! They're looking to claim a victory in their next home game this afternoon against Manchester Middle School! Come out to support them in their next three consecutive home games today, Tuesday, and Wednesday!
