IB Program

Midlothian High School has operated the International Baccalaureate Programme as its specialty center since 2001. The IB Organization's mission statement provides the framework on which our program is based:

The International Baccalaureate aims to develop inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people who help to create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect. To this end the organization works with schools, governments and international organizations to develop challenging programmes of international education and rigorous assessment. These programmes encourage students across the world to become active, compassionate and lifelong learners who understand that other people, with their differences, can also be right.

IB students exhibit academic strength and the necessary work-ethic in order to succeed in Midlothian’s IB Program. Should that statement describe you, we hope that you will join our IB program and enjoy all aspects of your IB journey. We trust that you would later leave Midlothian High School especially prepared to be a successful, knowledgeable, and involved citizen in your future endeavors. We look forward to the prospect of witnessing and facilitating your academic and personal growth throughout your high school career!

If you have any questions, please visit the Midlo IB website and/or contact the program coordinator, Mr. Mark Spewak.
