2018 6th Grade Orientation

Welcome to Manchester Middle School, home of the Majestic Lions and Majestic Pride!   Come spend two hours with us this August to help alleviate any fears as you enter the next exciting stage of your educational experience. You will get your class schedule, learn how to get to your classes, and how to open a locker.

Manchester High School Scheduling Night

Attention Parents of a Rising 9th grader attending Manchester High School for 2018-19:

You are invited to attend a Scheduling Information Night on Thursday February 1st, 6:00-8:00 pm at MHS. Rising 9th grade parents and students are invited as well as current high school families. The night will begin in the auditorium and then breakout sessions will occur every 30 minutes on a rotating base.  Families can choose sessions of interest and meet staff from core and elective classes to ask questions.  Information on the following topics will be covered:
  • Welcome to High School - Important things to know!
  • High School Scheduling Information for all grade levels - Process and important deadlines including summer school and online information.
  • Early College Academy - How to take college classes while in high school and complete an associates degree!
  • AP versus Dual Enrollment classes - What you should know to make the best decision for your child
  • Tech Center Classes - It's never to early to see what is available and how to apply!
  • In addition to breakout sessions, elective options showcased and a representative from each core discipline available for questions.

A Parent's Guide to MAP

This year, Manchester Middle is using MAP (Measures of Academic Progress) computer adaptive test, developed by NWEA (Northwest Evaluation Association), to help to help measure student achievement throughout the year. To learn more, please feel free to consult A Parent's Guide to MAP.

College and Career Expo Night

Interested in learning about the Career and Technical Centers in Chesterfield County?  COME TO THE COLLEGE AND CAREER EXPO NIGHT ON THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 9TH AT CTC @ HULL 6:30-8 p.m.  Students of all ages and their families can explore career and technical education opportunities and learn how K-12 choices prepare students to succeed in their future careers. Girl's on the Run

Attention 6th and 7th grade girls: There is still time to register for the after school program, Girls on the Run - Heart and Sole! It is a program to help students learn about themselves and others and make a difference in their community. We will also be running/walking/jogging every practice in order to achieve our goal of finishing a 5K race at the end of the season on December 10th! Practices are Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3-4:30pm starting on Tuesday 9/26/17. Go to www.gotrrichmond.org for more information and to register! Enrollment for the New School Year

Need to enroll your child in school? The counseling department will accept student registrations August 28-August 31 from 8am-3pm and on Friday, September 2 from 8am-12pm. Families will not be able to register their child after 12pm on Friday, September 2. We will not be accepting any registrations on the first day of school, September 5. We will resume accepting registrations on Wednesday, September 6.
