posted Jan 23, 2017, 5:47 AM by Kensey Mcgrath   [ updated Jan 23, 2017, 5:48 AM ]

This week, 11th grade students will be taking their Reading 11 SOL tests on Tuesday and Wednesday. To help ensure that students are prepared to test, here are a few testing tips to review with your students.
  • Be sure that you have reviewed over your testing material and are confident in your ability to test well.
  • When taking the test, can you identify 40 questions you know you have correct?
  • Are you using the testing strategies that your teacher has reviewed with you?
  • Are you highlight texts in the reading passages for review?
  • Did you re-reading the question or passage?
  • Please ensure that you get a good night's rest before the test and eat a well balanced breakfast prior to the test.
  • Make sure that you charge your Chromebook the night before testing and bring it with you for testing as we will be testing on our Chromebooks.
  • Make sure that you arrive to school on time and are not absent for the test day.

2017-2018 Elective Offerings

posted Jan 13, 2017, 5:43 AM by Kensey Mcgrath   [ updated Jan 13, 2017, 5:50 AM ]

2017-18 Elective Offerings

On Tuesday and Wednesday, students will receive course selection sheets that they will complete over a two day period with selection sheet pick up at the end of the day on Wednesday with a special 1st period to be held at the end of the day.
This is a slightly different process for our students this year in that now your student will have the opportunity to discuss their course selections with both their teachers and you to ensure that you may plan for the cost of fees associated with certain elective courses and to ensure that our students are knowledgeable about their options and have a reflective conversation with their teachers about their goals for the future and how to achieve them.
You will also notice that for your planning purposes, the fee amounts for certain course now appears on the sheet to guide you in planning for courses that have fees.
On Tuesday, please dialogue with your students about their options and the fees associated with certain courses. More importantly, we need your help to ensure that students turn in their course selection form so that you student will receive the best scheduling experience possible. As always, please speak with your students school counselor or administrator if you have questions.
