In partnership with John Tyler Community College, Chesterfield County Public Schools is reinventing the high school experience by allowing interested and motivated students to complete coursework that will allow them to graduate from Chesterfield County with a high school diploma and a two-year associate degree. By taking a combination of Advanced Placement courses, along with a full complement of Dual Enrollment courses, students can earn college credit for an Associate Degree while, at the same time, earning credit for high school graduation.

If you would like to learn more about the Early College Academy program, please contact Dr. Nancy Hoover, Early College Academy Coordinator, at nancy_hoover@ccpsnet.net or call 804-639-8920.

New Breakfast Program for Classes of 2016, 2017, & 2018

posted Jun 18, 2015, 8:18 PM by Cassein Carter

Change is coming to high school cafeterias starting Sept. 8 in Chesterfield County Public Schools. For the first time in 20 years, they will return to the federal breakfast and lunch program.

What does this mean for rising seniors, juniors and sophomores?

The biggest change will be that families with high school students have the opportunity to apply for free or reduced-price meals, based on family income. Applications will be available in mid-August. If free or reduced-price meals would help you and your family, we urge you to apply. The information is entirely confidential. Going through the cafeteria line is exactly the same for students receiving free or reduced price meals as it is for students who do not qualify for the program: There is no difference.

School breakfasts and lunches will continue to be great deals for families who do not qualify for free or reduced-price meals: $1.50 for breakfast and $2.75 for lunch. Breakfast includes an entrée, two fruits and milk. A full lunch includes an entrée or sandwich, one or two vegetables, one or two fruits and milk.

We’ll be communicating more as we get closer to the start of the 2015-16 school year.
