Dr. Jennifer Coleman
 
 

















Brandon Petrosky
 Mr. Petrosky began his public education career has a high school math teacher in southern Maryland in 2006.  In 2008 he began working for New York City Department of Education as a math teacher and grade team leader in Brooklyn, NY.  After 5 years in New York Mr. Petrosky found his way to Virginia, working at Highland Springs High School in Henrico County as both a teacher and administrative aide.  His tenure with Chesterfield County Public Schools began in 2015 when he accepted the position as assistant principal at James River High School, where he currently serves as the associate principal.  Mr. Petrosky holds a B.S in Education from Miami University and M.A. in Education and Human Development from George Washington University.  He and his wife Laura are the beaming parents to a very energetic and seemingly unbreakable toddler named Harrison. 
 










Michael Farrell
 ​Mr. Farrell earned his B.A. from Hampden-Sydney College and education license from the University of Richmond, he also holds a Master's in Educational Leadership, Administration & Supervision. He began his education career in 2009 as a History teacher at James River High School, along with coaching both football and basketball.  After seven years of teaching he then spent a year as a Dean of Students at James River High School. After completing his Masters Degree in Educational Leadership, Administration & Supervision he became an assistant principal at James River High School. He is married to his wife Carrie, and is the proud father of two young boys Derek and Nolan.
 















Elisa Tedona
 Ms. Tedona is a former Algebra and Algebra Prep teacher at Salem Church Middle School. She also served as the team lead and director of student activities. Ms. Tedona has a passion for sports and was able to coach girl’s basketball at both the middle and high school levels before stepping into additional leadership roles. Ms. Tedona has done work with both the VDOE and Chesterfield County to analyze and improve lesson plans, as well as, test and item review for the Standards of Learning assessment. She earned her teaching license and Bachelor’s of Science degree from James Madison University and her Master’s in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies from the University of Richmond. Ms. Tedona is now happy to call James River High School home where she is an Assistant Principal. 
 





















Toni Kilpatrick
 Mrs. Kilpatrick is a former US History and Civics teacher, where she served the communities of Matoaca Middle School and Manchester Middle School. With a strong belief in the value of becoming immersed in the school community, she worked in several additional capacities, such as grade level team leader, PBIS team leader and step team advisor.  Coaching and mentorship of new teachers has become one of her passions as an educator; to this end she currently serves on the New Teacher Induction Program Advisory Board for Chesterfield. Mrs. Kilpatrick earned a Bachelor’s of Arts degree in Government from George Mason University, her Master’s in Teaching from Mary Baldwin College and her Master’s in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies from the University of Richmond. Further, she and her husband Brian are delighted to be parents to a tenacious toddler named Leah. Mrs. Kilpatrick is now happy to to be part of the family at James River High School, serving as a Dean of Students.

 


















David Kern
 Mr. Kern is a former special education teacher and administrative aide at Deep Run High School in Henrico County.  He enjoyed serving both students and staff with a strong commitment to inclusion, life-long learning, and community outreach.  During his time in Henrico County, Mr. Kern was co-director of the Deep Run Marathon Dance.  This annual 27 hour student led event raised over 2.1 million dollars for over 80 local charities and organizations serving the greater Richmond area.  His hope is to bring this same enthusiasm for community outreach to the James River community.  After receiving his undergraduate degree from Appalachian State University in 2003, he completed his teaching certification via Virginia Commonwealth University.  Recently, Mr. Kern completed his graduate work in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies from the University of Richmond.  Mr. Kern is proud to now call James River home and is excited to work in the community where he and his family have lived for over 10 years.  He is excited to share his new found rapid pride with his wife Kathleen, son Caleb (8), and daughter Abigail (5).
