    • January 30th – Laser Quest Spirit Night
    • Come play with some of Jacob's staff on Tuesday, Jan 30th, $9.50 per person per game, this is a spirit night for the school. Sign up is not required but if you want to play at a certain time we will hold a spot for you via the sign-up. Not sure what time works for you just show up! https://jres.ptboard.com/sgn/signup

    From PTA: Yearbooks and Carnival

    • We Are looking for pictures! Any pictures parents/teachers have taken on field trips, in class, at events, etc. would be greatly appreciated. The goal is to have as less white space as possible on the pages. All Pictures can be sent to jacobsrdyearbook@gmail.com

    • This year PTA has decided to do the auction baskets a little different from past years. This year we are asking parents to donate items for ANY of the basket themes listed below. There is a donation box in each classroom for donations to be placed in.
      • Please place items in a bag and label with the value of each item.
      • Electronic sign up coming soon for some containers/baskets needed.

              January 9th – Skate Night 6-8: 30 pm (6-6: 20 pm free skate lesson)

              January 18th – 1st carnival meeting 6 pm in the cafeteria followed by general membership meeting 7 pm

    If you have joined the PTA and haven’t received a membership card(s) yet don’t worry they are coming. Virginia is a beta test state for the new national PTA database and there have been a few glitches along the way. I have been in contact with the state PTA office regarding this and everyone should receive their card by mid-February.

    *For the school dance to happen, PTA needs to reach 400 members; we are currently at 270. This dance is a membership drive; without membership, we can’t provide many of the programs/events PTA does. If you have already joined THANK YOU. Don’t forget any adult (18 years and older) can join. Membership is $7.00 per person. One benefit of joining will give a family with 2 or more PTA members per family entrance into the dance for FREE. 1 PTA members per family will receive $5.00 off.

    *After winter break, look for information about yearbook orders and the 5th-grade cover art contest to come home (information will also be on our website). Also, carnival information will start to come home end of January.

    *In January a nomination committee will be formed (of one teacher and 2 others) to fill positions within the PTA, this includes elected positions (president, president-elect, treasurer, secretary, vice president of programs, and vice president of fundraising) and non-elected positions (committee chairs). More information will be sent out soon.

    *Have a great winter break and we look forward to seeing many of you at our 1st carnival meeting January 18th at 6 pm in the cafeteria followed by our general membership meeting at 7 pm also held in the cafeteria.

       December 4th-8th – Holiday Shop {We hope to see you all at our holiday shop, you can send money in with your            student (they will shop during library resource time) or come by Tuesday or Thursday evening the shop will be open      from 3-7pm.}

       December 12th – Skate Night

       December 14th – Cookie Exchange

    -It is not too late to join the PTA, any adult can join, it is $7 per person.     Make-Up Picture Day

    Just a reminder that this Wednesday, November 29th is Make-Up Picture Day.  All new staff and students, absent friends, or any students needing to have retakes will need to have their pictures taken at this time. Students having their picture re-taken must bring back their original package.
