School Counseling

What does a school counselor do?

The school counselor’s primary role is to help students learn and develop to their highest potential -- socially, emotionally, and academically.  Because there can be so many situations that interfere with a child’s learning process, they are here to help students work through those issues.  They provide students with early interventions as well as preventative strategies so that ALL students benefit.  Some of their counseling techniques include:  classroom guidance lessons, small group counseling, individual counseling, role-playing, hands-on activities, stories, counseling games, skill building, goal setting, student contracts, discussions, puppetry, videos, music, and journaling.  They love partnering with parents and teachers to ensure student success!!  Please feel free to contact them anytime with questions or concerns.
