Jogging Club

Group of pictures of students jogging at Gordon
Jogging Club is the longest running club here at Gordon. It was established in 1979 when the school first opened.

Jogging Club has many benefits for our children. Jogging is not only beneficial for health reasons, but it is also a huge confidence builder for children. It encourages socialization and is great for stamina building, which increases their capacity to work all through the day. Jogging in the mornings also means a better nights' sleep!

Jogging club is held every Wednesday and Friday morning in the Fall and Spring from 8:30am.- 9:05am. (weather permitting) . The students run, jog, or walk a mile. This is 4 laps around our football field. Their miles accumulate each year they participate in Jogging Club. The children receive ribbons at these mile marks: 15, 25, 50, and 75. Students will receive a trophy when the reach the 100 mile mark, again at 125 miles, 150 miles, and so on.

Jogging Club will start Wednesday, September 20th, 2017. We hope to see many new faces out on the field!

Registration and permission forms will be sent home at the beginning of the school year. There is a $5 fee to join jogging club. This fee will cover the whole year.
