Exceptional Education

The Exceptional Education Team supports students with special needs in accessing the general education curriculum to the maximum extent possible, by working cooperatively with regular education teachers and other Multi-Disciplinary Professionals.

Effective communication is essential!  All students entering kindergarten are screened for speech and/or language delays.  Those students with significant differences in articulation (sounds), receptive or expressive language skills, fluency or vocal quality may qualify for special education support from the Speech/Language Pathologist to help access the educational curriculum.  Each child’s specific needs are targeted through fun activities and games in small groups in the therapy room and/or in the classroom.
