Pajama Drive Success!

posted Dec 13, 2017, 1:17 PM by Beth Sawyer   [ updated Dec 13, 2017, 1:18 PM ]

Evergreen Elementary participated in the Scholastic Book Club's Great Bedtime Story Pajama Drive led by the 4th grade. The Pajama Program is a national nonprofit organization that provides new pajamas and storybooks to at-risk children. Scholastic donated a new book for each pajama donated. Evergreen Eagles collected 255 new pajamas, which means 255 books from Scholastic. With warm pajamas and a comforting story, we helped make a better bedtime for these children. New Online Reading Resource

posted Dec 11, 2017, 6:31 AM by Beth Sawyer   [ updated Dec 11, 2017, 6:31 AM ]

Dear Families,

We are proud to inform you our school will be implementing an exciting, new literacy program called myON!

myON is the first-of-its-kind personalized literacy environment that integrates technology and students’ ability to match their reading level with their preferred choice of books into one comprehensive online literacy program.

As a family in our school, you have been provided free access to myON. myON will provide you with infinite access to a growing collection of thousands of enhanced digital books that can be read anytime, anywhere there is an Internet connection, or offline on any device to which the free myON app has been downloaded.

In addition to implementing myON throughout our school, we are excited to give our families the opportunity to spend time with their children in an engaging, fun reading environment to build reading stamina and fluency.  Your child simply needs to use their CCPS login, go to their backpacks to access myOn, and they will instantly have access to thousands of books.

We hope you find this program as exciting as we do, and will join us in making myON a success. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me or your child’s teacher.

Check it out today!
