Mr. Maynes, EDMS Principal
Edward Maynes, Principal

Mr. Maynes joined the Chesterfield County family in 2005. He taught English to 6th and 8th graders at Providence Middle School for six years until starting a career in administration at Bailey Bridge Middle School in 2011. After one year as a Bear, Mr. Maynes joined the Ravens’ Nest as an Assistant Principal for three years before becoming principal.

Mr. Maynes received his Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Virginia Commonwealth University in 1999 and his Master of Education degree in Educational Leadership from Virginia Commonwealth University in 2010.

Mrs. Rapp, Associate Prinipal
Allison Rapp, Associate Principal

Mrs. Rapp started her career teaching in Richmond City in 2003. She joined Chesterfield County in 2006 at Robious Middle School and spent six years there teaching a combination of math and science classes. She spent three years as a Monarch on the administrative team at Meadowbrook High School before becoming a Raven at Davis in 2015.

Mrs. Rapp received her Bachelor of Science in degree in education from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania in 2003 and her Master of Education degree in Educational Leadership from Regent University in 2012.

Mrs. Smith, Administrative Assistant
Julie Smith, Dean of Students 

Mrs. Smith began her career in Chesterfield County in 1990 where she began as a math teacher at Salem Middle School.  Then she taught English at Matoaca Middle until 2011.  At that time, she joined the administrative team at Matoaca Middle and served as the Dean of Students until 2016.  She continued her administrative role as a Dean at Davis Middle School, where she continues that role presently as a proud Raven.

Mrs. Smith received her Bachelor of Science degree in Education from Virginia Commonwealth University, and her Master of Education in Leadership and Supervision at Virginia State University.  In addition, she received certification in Gifted Education from classes at William and Mary and University of Richmond.

 8th Grade Administrator

Mrs. Acome, Assistant Principal
Jennifer Acome, Assistant Principal

Mrs. Acome has spent her entire career in Chesterfield County Public Schools. She started as an English teacher at G.W. Carver Middle School in 1998, and moved across town when Davis opened in 2008.  She continued her career as an English teacher until she decided to become a math teacher in 2013 at EDMS.

Remaining in the Ravens’ Nest, Mrs. Acome began her administrative career in 2016 as Assistant Principal of 8th grade.  She is a member of the National Association of Secondary School Principals, the PBIS leader of the school, and spearheads the Wellness committee, among other duties.

Mrs. Acome received her Bachelor of Science degree in Education from SUNY Oswego in 1998, and her Master of Education in Educational Leadership from VCU in 2015.
