Book & Breakfast

Our Newest Selection: Restart by Gordon Korman

Summary: Chase doesn't remember falling off the roof. He doesn't remember hitting his head. He doesn't, in fact, remember anything. He has to learn his whole life all over again . . . starting with his own name. He knows he's Chase. But who is Chase? When he gets back to school, he sees that different kids have very different reactions to his return. Some kids are clearly afraid of him. Pretty soon, it's not only a question of who Chase is--it's a question of who he was . . . and who he's going to be. Restart is the spectacular story of a kid with a messy past who has to figure out what it means to get a clean start.

Meeting Information:   Tuesday, November 13 from 8:30-9:15

What is Book and Breakfast?

This is a club where students have the opportunity to read the same book and then get together one morning before school to discuss the story in a relaxed atmosphere. Students also have the opportunity to discuss the book through Google Classroom at home before our meeting.

Who? Ecoff students  (Meetings are divided into K-2 and 3-5 sessions)

When? We meet 4-5 times a year at 8:30 in the morning. A flyer will go home a month before each meeting.

Where? The library, of course!

Bagels with cream cheese and fruit are provided in addition to juice and milk. A month before our meeting, students have the opportunity to purchase just breakfast or breakfast AND the book. If the book is not purchased through the library, the student may obtain his/her own copy another way (such as borrowing from the public library or purchasing from Barnes and Noble) and still participate with the group. Book discussion is led in small groups by the librarian and parents. We always love to have parents join us!
