Free School Supplies and Teacher Appreciation Gifts

Operations Pastor, Justin Morris, from the Thrive Church wanted us to share with our students, parents, and teachers about their outreach event of “Free School Supplies” and “Teacher Appreciation Gifts” that they will be passing out at their two church locations listed below.

The free supplies are for school aged students and will consist of a back pack filled with various school supplies. 

Events will be held:

Open House Information Thursday, Aug. 31st

  • Open House will be held on Thursday August 31st. K-2 students should come between 2:00pm- 4:00pmStudents in grades 3-5 should come between 4:00-6:00. It is an opportunity for you and your student to meet and greet the teacher and drop off school supplies.

  • During Open House, you will receive a packet of information that contains important documents. You may fill them out at school that evening, or you can return all necessary documents with your student(s) on the first day of school, September 5th. You will also receive a wristband for your student to wear on the first day of school. This wristband should indicate their method of transportation HOME on the first day of school, including their bus number, Parent PIck Up, or daycare. It is critical that they wear this on the first day of school, and each day, until they are confident regarding their mode of transportation.

Did you know that Curtis Elementary had the very first Watch D.O.G. program in Chesterfield? We are very proud of it, and need YOU to keep it going strong! Please check out this link for more information about this national program.

Aug. 8th 4:30-7pm Scholastic BOGO Book Fair

We are hoping this message finds you having a great summer and enjoying many reading adventures!  If you are running low on books to read or just want a chance to visit with friends from Curtis, please join your Curtis community on Tuesday, August 8th from 4:30-7 pm in the Curtis Elementary gym.

Scholastic books will have a BOGO- Buy One Get One- book fair at Curtis.  You can meet up with old friends to talk about the great books you have read and make new friends as you share your summer reading adventures.  Curtis teachers and staff will be running the fair so please stop by, say hello and check out the books that are on sale.

Hope you are having a great summer!  We can't wait to hear all about the books you have read this summer!

The Curtis family welcomes our new Assistant Principal, Mrs. Jenny Andrews.

A message from Mrs. Andrews:

I am extremely excited to begin serving here at Curtis Elementary as your Assistant Principal. Over the past 13 years I have had the pleasure of working with students and families at Evergreen Elementary.  I promise to continue to serve with the same integrity and passion in my new role and look forward to building strong relationships with students, families, and the entire Curtis community. I believe every child should be inspired to become a lifelong learner by cultivating his/her unique gifts and talents in a safe and loving environment.  We want Curtis to be that place for your student!

Yearbook - Last Day to Purchase is April 25th

Tuesday, April 25th is the LAST day to purchase a yearbook.  There will be no extras available once the yearbooks arrive.  If you are unsure if you purchased one, please contact Emily Grant at emily_barber@ccpsnet.net.
