Art Guild Holiday and Craft Party, Tues. Dec. 11

Tuesday, December 11 from 3-4 will be our Holiday Craft and Party!

Ms. Lamson will provide materials for a paper lantern making craft. Take home an original lantern design ready for you to add your own electric votive for special glowing holiday magic!

Go to the Art Guild Google Classroom page to let us know you will be attending, and sign up to bring a treat, beverage, or paper products.
Because of nut and other allergies, please bring an ingredient list with your delicious treats!

It is very important that students only attend if they have  prearranged transportation to take them home NO LATER than 4:00 pm!

One Act Competition Auditions- Monday, Dec. 10

 Auditions for this years VHSL One-Act competition piece will be Monday, December 10th from 3-4:30 p.m. in the Forum.  The audition will be a cold read from the script, so you don't need to prepare anything.  If you have any questions, see Mr. Ellis in room 509.

Monthly meeting Thursday, Dec. 13th, in the morning (7:40 to 8:20 AM)! Meet in the forum for donuts and math fun! Stop by Mordan or Meirchuk’s room to get a morning pass!  If you like, wear a tacky Christmas sweater.

Free College Application Assistance, Sat. Dec. 8

The CCPS Office of Family and Community Engagement is partnering with Chesterfield County Public Libraries to provide free college application assistance sessions for students and families preparing for graduation in Spring 2019. The next session will be held on Saturday, December 8, 2018, between 10:00 am and 1:00 pm at the Chesterfield County Central Library Branch
  • One-to-One sessions will provide families of CCPS students assistance with questions like: 
  • What are reach schools, competitive schools, and safety schools? 
  • What is the Common App and the Coalition App? 
  • What is the difference between Early Action, Early Decision, Rolling Admission, and Open Admission? 
  • Hints and Tips for Admission Essay Writing. If a student has an essay, we can preview it and provide feedback. 
  • How to Secure Letters of Recommendation
  • College Resume Building: Academic + Extracurricular Activities
  • Representatives from GRASP will be on hand to discuss financial options including scholarships

Fiesta Friday: Friday, Dec. 7

Attention Seniors:

The first "Fiesta Friday" is almost here! 

When: Friday, December 7th, at 2:15pm.
Where: Commons
How To Get In: Bring either $1, donate a book, or donate unused school supplies.  

Games will include Holiday activities, including a TACKY SWEATER CONTEST! So wear your tackiest (and school appropriate) of sweaters on the 7th!

Cosby Believes in Santa Paws!

Please consider contributing to our annual collection of items appropriate for needy animals in area Animal Humane Societies.

Appropriate supplies include pet food, toys, treats, leashes, collars, and blankets,

used or new: Fido and Snowflake won’t mind!

Boxes Located outside of room 103 and throughout the building.

Calculator Drive

Cosby's math national honor society, Mu Alpha Theta, is sponsoring our first Cosby Calculator Drive to donate calculators to local elementary and middle schools in need. We are encouraging students to donate any new or used calculators (including four function) by Friday, December 14th to Mrs. Mierchuk's, Room 124.  The math teacher who has the most calculators donated on December 14th will win candy for their students.  Thanks so much for your cooperation.  May the best math teacher win!

ATTENTION!!  **CHANGE IN MEETING TIME** - MAT will hold meetings in the mornings.  Meetings will no longer be held in the evenings.  MAT members will meet 7:40 - 8:20 AM in the forum starting with the December meeting.
