STUDENTS - Do you want to win a SUGAR SHACK DONUT PARTY for your 1st Period class? Or what about seeing a favorite teacher DUCT TAPED to a wall? If so, you're in luck! The BETA CLUB will be sponsoring both of these contests TODAY to help raise money to “STRIKE OUT CANCER!” All you NEED to do to participate is BRING your dollars and cents to your 1st Period class or to LUNCHES and donate. The wait is over! We will FINALLY have our DUNGEONS AND DRAGONS interest meeting TODAY at 2:00 pm in the BAND room. This meeting is open to anyone who may be interested. We hope to see you there! (announce 2/22, 2/23)

The effect of laughter on someone who’s sad. The danger and excitement of dirt biking or skating. The reason human beings need so much sleep. The thought of infinity… These are just a few of the topics that students are exploring through TED-Ed. If you like listening to TEDTalks, thinking about big ideas, and considering new points of view, please join Clover Hill's newest club, TED-ED CHHS. There will be an interest meeting in the AUDITORIUM during Cavalier Morning on Wednesday, February 28th. See Mr. Adams, Mr. Thomas, or Mr. Brown if you have any questions or cannot make it to the meeting! (announce 2/21 - 2/27)


The Library Book Club, "BOOK ENDS", will hold our next meeting during ALL LUNCHES on Wednesday, February 28th. Our book for February is “Made for You,” by Melissa Marr. Please BRING your lunch, share some snacks, and let's talk about this novel, described by goodreads.com as "a twisted southern gothic tale of obsession, romance, and murder". You won't want to miss it! (announce 2/22 - 2/28)


FRENCH CLUB will be meeting to celebrate “Mardi Gras” with mask decorating and king cake next Wednesday, Feb. 28th from 2:00 pm - 2:45 pm in ROOM 125. (announce 2/21 - 2/28)


Attention BETA CLUB members: We still need LOTS of help with two "Strike Out Cancer" fundraisers going on NEXT WEEK. Please check out the signup sheet on our Google Classroom page and sign up to help during Cavalier Morning or during your lunch period. ALSO, if you work 2 hours or more, you will NOT be required to donate $10 for our MANDATORY fundraiser! (announce 2/19 - 2/28)


Attention ALL students and teachers - ART 1 students are PAINTING MURALS IN THE 100 POD. Please be aware of your surroundings as you pass through the World Language hall so that you DO NOT GET WET PAINT ON YOUR CLOTHES. (announce 2/19 - 2/23 am only)


Attention SENIORS:  If you live in Brandermill, please consider applying for the BRANDERMILL COMMUNITY ASSOCIATION SCHOLARSHIP. Winners can receive up to $1,000! Applications are available on our ONLINE SCHOLARSHIP NEWSLETTER and are DUE March 1st. See your COUNSELOR if you have questions. (announce 2/1 – 3/1)


Come join us at James River High School on Saturday, March 10th, for the RIVER JAM!! We’ve got an outdoor fun filled day of music, carnival games, food trucks and more. The cost is $7 for adults and $5 for students. The proceeds from River Jam will benefit the Cameron K. Gallagher Foundation, which builds programs for teenage sufferers of mental illness and provides resources for suicide prevention. BRING your chair, have fun and support the cause, hope to see you there!! (announce 2/23 - 3/9)

DUCT TAPE A TEACHER” Update! Mr. Hickam remains in the lead, but Mrs. Curran remains on his heels with only a few dollars between them. Mr. Wahrman remains in 3rd place, but is only one large donation away from being right there with the leaders. Berneche, Cox, Moseley, Yancey, Harvey and Lambert are all breathing easily right now, but that could change. Voting continues during ALL lunches and Cavalier Morning in the COMMONS! TONIGHT is the night we have all been waiting for! The Clover Hill BAND Program Pre-Assessment will take place tonight at 7:00 pm, with performances by Swift Creek Middle School and Manchester Middle School, as well. Tickets are $7.00 for General Admission and FREE for CHHS Students and Staff. We would love to see your support before performing at State Concert Band Assessment in two weeks. See you there! Did you know that Clover Hill’s BAND program started a new ensemble this school year? We are now taking TWO bands to Concert Assessment this Spring - the Symphonic Band, comprised of predominantly freshmen, and the Wind Ensemble, comprised of older students. Attention CHHS faculty and staff: A closing reception for ALL Regional Scholastic ART Award winners (Gold, Silver, Honorable Mention) will be held at the Visual Arts Center on Saturday February 24th, from 1:00 - 4:00 pm. A ceremony for Gold Key recipients will be held that day at 2:00 pm at Binford Middle School: 1701 Floyd Ave, right next to Visarts. Congratulations to Clover Hill's Cavalier 21 String ORCHESTRA on their debut concert tour in Richmond, Virginia. The tour ended last Sunday with a spirited performance at the Hofgarden and an invitation to perform again for classical music fans in March. With this tour, Cavalier 21 has established itself as Richmond's Premier String Orchestra. Visit Cavalier21.org for information on future performances. (announce 2/21)
