Weekly Snapshot Week of 3/5-3/9

posted Mar 4, 2018, 10:14 AM by Allie Strollo
We had a great week celebrating Read Across America Week. Our first graders also did an amazing job with their first grade performance. We ended the week with a great Family Movie Night viewing Wonder. Thank you to everyone who came out to enjoy the fun evening. There are a few more days to raise money for American Heart. Students can begin sending money in this Friday, March 9. Click here to get started. Each student who signs up receives a free glow in the dark wrist band. Monster key chains prizes are given out daily for prizes. Larger prizes will be awarded at our next Town Hall meeting.

This month, we were asked to collect new and gently used shoes to support the band programs at Cosby HS. Shoes will be donated to Funds2Orgs to promote micro-enterprise in developing countries. The shoes drive begins this week and runs through March 30. There will be a box in the front foyer for students to place donations.

Clover Hill Elementary has teamed up with Kroger Community Rewards! You can give back to CHES just by doing your normal grocery shopping at any Mid-Atlantic Division Kroger store. Link your Kroger Plus Card by enrolling online at by clicking here and choosing our school.  If you do not have a Kroger Plus Card, they are available at the customer service desk at any Kroger. Fliers will also come home with students this week. We have a few cards available in the front office if you can't make it by the store.

Do you have a 5th grader who will attend 6th grade at Swift Creek Middle School next year? Swift Creek Middle School will be offering an Intro to Middle School opportunity for any rising 6th grader this summer. Click here for more information and registration. The last day to sign up will be on March 30th.

Our spring book fair begins this Friday. Mrs. Pierpont could use some parent volunteers. Please click here to sign up. As always, thank you for your support.

Important!! Survey participation needed!! The Safe Routes To School Team at CHES is preparing to reapply for the grant for the 2018-2019 school year. This grant supports walking and biking activities at CHES along with the purchase of valuable equipment. Data collection through an Online Parent Survey is a very important part of the reapplication process. Please click the following link and complete the short survey to support your school. The survey will be available through March 16, 2018. Click here to complete the survey.

Clover Hill ES, along with the rest of Chesterfield County Public Schools, is participating in National School Breakfast Week (NSBW).  It is a week to highlight and celebrate the benefits of breakfast and the opportunity for all of our students to receive a healthy meal at the start of their day. Fueling up at breakfast can boost attention, concentration, and memory, all of which helps our students in and out of the classroom. Lots of fun activities planned for next week including an opportunity to win a raffle prize for students who participate in school breakfast every day the week of March 5 through 9th.

Congratulations to our February CHES Champs. If you still have a yard sign, please return it Monday so our new Champs can take them home this week.
