posted Jun 4, 2017, 8:24 AM by Allie Strollo

Good evening! This is Mrs. Strollo delivering your weekly snapshot for the week of June 5. Thank you to everyone who came out to watch our kindergartners perform last week...our students were simply precious!

We have a lot of exciting things going on this week at CHES!

Monday students will be attending our Summer Reading Kickoff Assemblies. Be sure to check their bookbags for information. Mrs. Pierpont and Mrs. Stuller have put together some engaging ways to encourage reading over the summer. Monday our 3rd graders go on a field trip and kindergarten students will be getting a visit from the fire department. Piano Partners will meet after school.

Tuesday is the PTA transition dinner at 6 PM and the Orff Ensemble meets after school.

Wednesday students will have a chance to attend the BOGO (Buy one, get one) book fair. Our kindergarten students will also be hosting a wax museum and grades 3 and 5 will have a chance to watch our 4th graders perform their recorder concert at 2 PM. Parents who are unable to attend the recorder concert on Thursday due to high school graduations are also invited to attend at this time. Wednesday is also Ms. Kendrick's, our clinic assistant, birthday! 5th grade choir meets after school on Wednesday as well.

Thursday is our 4th grade recorder concert for parents and guests at 2 PM in the cafeteria. Stop by Sweet Frog in Hancock Village for Family Night anytime between 5-8 PM.

Friday is the long awaited field day make up! K-3 will participate from 9:30-11:15, 4-5 from 12:30-2:15, and all students will eat a picnic lunch at 11:30. See attachment below.

Upcoming events and reminders:

  • Next Monday is our volunteer breakfast. This is our chance to thank the countless numbers of volunteers at CHES. Please call the front office to let us know if you are able to attend.
  • Lunchroom reminders:  If you are visiting your child for lunch, we ask that you sit with only your child.  Also, do not bring food to share with other students.  Please refrain from using cell phones while in the cafeteria with students.
  • If your child is a current CHES champ, please return your yard sign this week.
