Jennifer Lenz
Jennifer Lenz

I attended George Mason University (B.S. in Psychology, M.Ed. in Special Education) and Johns Hopkins University- Administration & Supervision Post-Masters. I began teaching in 1994 at a school for students with disabilities in Fairfax County, Virginia. Over the course of the next 10 years I taught in Anne Arundel County, Maryland and Hanover County, Virginia. In 2005, I became Assistant Principal at Stonewall Jackson Middle School and in 2007 was named Principal at Washington-Henry Elementary School, both in Hanover County. I served as the principal at WHES for five years and then came to Marguerite Christian Elementary in 2012. I enjoy reading, relaxing on the beach (reading), watching movies, cheering on the Virginia Tech Hokies and spending time with my family. I love to teach because I love seeing the “light-bulb” go off when a student finally “gets it”. There is no greater reward in life than impacting the life of a child in a positive way.

Assistant Principal

I attended Virginia Commonwealth University (B.S in Mathematics and Science, M.Ed in Elementary Education PK-6) and Virginia Commonwealth University (Administration & Supervision); I have been teaching since 2001 and began my teaching career at Curtis Elementary. I became a math specialist in 2006 and worked as a specialist till 2013. I began working at M. Christian Elementary in 2013 and I look forward to many more years. I enjoy reading, spending time by the pool when the weather allows, and having fun with my daughter. She keeps me very busy. I love to teach because I am often able to open up a person's mind to the love (or like) of mathematics using the new math. I love to hear, "I wish my teacher would have taught me this way."

Administrative Assistant

It is with great enthusiasm that I introduce myself as the Administrative Assistant at Marguerite Christian Elementary School! I bring with me ten years of experience in education from Henrico County Public Schools where I have been a classroom teacher as well as enjoyed a variety of leadership roles. I am a three time graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University and hold a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Psychology, Master's of Teaching Degree, and Post-Master's in Educational Leadership. I have a passion for instruction and I believe that all students can learn and achieve educational success when meaningful relationships exist within their school community.  I am thrilled to be joining such a dynamic learning community with dedicated staff, teachers, parents, and students. I am here to support you as we work together to help our students discover their Super Powers this year!
