Lunch Date

Fifth graders have the opportunity to participate in Lunch Date with the Future. The program's goal is to prepare students for success later in life by teaching them appropriate behavior in social circumstances. Lessons take place throughout the school year, and every other month, a classroom is transformed into a “restaurant,” where students can practice what they have learned. Once they are comfortably minding their manners, they are rewarded with an end-of-year country club luncheon.

Originally funded by an MCD Award from the Chesterfield Public Education Foundation, the 13-year-old program currently relies on grants, volunteers and community support.
