What does a school counselor do?

The primary role of a counselor is to help students learn and develop to their highest potential. This is achieved through academic, social, and emotional growth. We provide students with preventative strategies and early interventions to handle daily responsibilities, problems, and concerns.
Mission of CCPS School Counseling Program 
The mission of the CCPS professional School Counseling Program is to empower all students to become productive and contributing members of society.  In partnership with families, staff, and the community, school counselors provide a developmental program that addresses students’ academic, personal/social, and career development.
