Dr. Patrice Wilson, Principal

Bensley Tigers are GRRRReat!  I am Dr. Patrice C. Wilson, your new principal!  It is with great honor and pride that I join you on this continued journey of excellence! With over 20 years of education experience, I am confident that we will take Bensley to the NEXT Level- TOGETHER!  Here’s a little about me to hopefully help ease your minds as we partner together for our students’ success this year:  I graduated from Meadowbrook High School and finished my college studies at Virginia Commonwealth University.  I completed a B.A. in English and a Masters of Teaching degree in 1997, an Educational Specialist degree from the University of Virginia in 2004, and a Doctor of Philosophy degree in educational leadership in 2014 from Virginia Commonwealth University.   I began teaching right here in Chesterfield County in the Fall of 1997 where I went on to serve as an Assistant Principal here at Bensley from 2004-2008.  Working with Mrs. Cooper, the past principal of Bensley successfully prepared me to go on to be principal at Thelma Crenshaw and Harrowgate Elementary schools. Finally, I’ve spent this past year serving as an Assistant Principal at Swift Creek Middle school so, I bring a wealth of knowledge and experience back with me to Bensley.

As a wife, mother, lifelong learner and advocate for all students, I continue to make decisions and seek opportunities that will enhance the lives of children, their families, and our community.  ALL students—deserve the best we can offer them and I am committed to ensuring that we lead with love, laughter, and a long-lasting legacy of educational excellence that will help them become their BEST selves.  Join me this year, as we learn and discover the ‘Leader in Me’ as well as the highly effective ‘Habits’ that will take us to the NEXT LEVEL! I look forward to working with you and our Bensley community.

Lesley Harris, Assistant Principal

It is my pleasure to serve as Assistant Principal at Bensley Elementary School. I have 17 years experience in Education and I am excited to be a part of this amazing learning community. I have served as a classroom teacher and taught grades Pre-K through Third. I have served in several teacher and school leadership positions during the course of my career. I believe that strong parent and community partnerships have a positive impact on student achievement. I have been a member of the Chesterfield County Public School family since 2012. I hold an A.A .S Degree from John Tyler Community College in Early Childhood Education, a B.A Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from Virginia State University, a M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction from Averett University and an Endorsement in Educational Leadership from the University of Richmond.

Last year I served as Dean of Students at Marguerite Christian Elementary School. I have a passion for working with teachers and supporting families.

In my spare time I enjoy singing, listening to live music and spending time with family and friends. I am looking forward to a fun filled NEXT LEVEL year!
