4th Grade Recorders Online Ordering

As part of their music SOLs, Beulah 4th Graders will soon being their study of the recorder.  Order forms were sent home last week describing the process and the option to purchase their recorder online.  The link to access this convenient way to purchase your recorder online is http://osp/osmsinc.com/chesterfieldva.

Cici's Pizza/PTA Event:

Stop by Cici's on Tues. Oct. 23 at Bermuda Crossroad Ln. in Chester anytime between 5-8 pm to support our school as a percentage of your food purchase is given to our school's PTA from Cici’s.

Richmond Ballet Performance:

K-2 students will experience the Richmond Ballet at a free in-house field trip on Tues. Oct. 23 at 3 p.m. in the Beulah cafeteria.

Developmental Reading Assessment (DRA):

This week, our teachers will begin conducting the DRA on all students in 1st-5th grades.  We look forward to sharing with you and the students the growth they have made since the first day of school. 

Literacy Assessments:

Our teachers will complete all DRA testing this week for students in 1st-5th grades.  Our students in PK-K will begin working with their teachers to complete the Phonological Awareness Literacy Screening (PALS).  We look forward to sharing student status with you regarding testing results.

Fall Book Fair

The Beulah Fall Book Fair will run until this Tuesday afternoon.  During library resource, students will have the chance to preview the book fair.  They can purchase books during their library time on those days or make a wish list and purchase from the book fair at the family night.  Book fair flyers were sent home in tyveks last week.

PBIS Focus:

This week our focus area is on playground rules.  Students will learn about expectations during special events and assemblies using our S.W.I.M. acronym for self-control, work ethic, I can, and manners motivate.

CCPS now requires all volunteers to register online.  Please go online at (English)  https://apps.raptorware.com/vsoft/kiosk/volunteerregistration?clientId=2f447ad9-dd95-4877-a364-1bb8354f5a2c  or (Spanish) https://apps.raptorware.com/vsoft/kiosk/volunteerregistration?clientId=2f447ad9-dd95-4877-a364-1bb8354f5a2c&lang=esp to register today if you plan to work directly with students this year as a field trip chaperone, volunteer in classrooms, serve as a Watch DOG, etc..  It can take up to three weeks for your form to be processed so do not delay.  Again, please complete this form so you will be all set for our upcoming field trips.  Chaperones will only be granted access on the trip with the school if you have completed the form and have been approved.  You can also access the form on our school website>resources tab>volunteer information.

Our bi-weekly school newsletters will begin to go home starting Thursday, Oct. 11.  They will mostly include upcoming dates and events but will also have little sections of information.  They will go home every other week on Thursdays in tyvek folders.
