Science


Science is knowledge (from the Latin scientia) and the process of organizing this knowledge in the form of testable explanations and predictions about the universe, from the macro to the micro and now even to the nano. 
 
The science department at Bird High Schools strives to share with students the broad spectrum of knowledge in a way that allows students to explore and experiment with the knowledge, testing it for themselves.  Project-based learning, experimentation, and hands-on learning are cornerstones of the science department’s philosophy of instruction.
