PTA Update June 8, 2017

The PTA board is pleased to present the following list of items for the school from surplus funds for this fiscal year.  Surplus funds come from several sources, both the Village Fair and the 5K did better than what we conservatively budgeted and there are expense line items that were under budget during the year.

We will be voting on the surplus funds allocation at the final general membership meeting of the year - Tuesday 6/13 at 6:15 prior to the 4th grade recorder concert. We will also be recognizing the retiring staff at the meeting. Following the concert will be our end of year popsicle party and yearbook signing party.  The buy one get one book fair will also be going on in the library (starting after school)

Surplus – we will have over $12,000 in surplus funds

5 new rugs for classroom teachers- $2,395 (replacing old rugs)

1 rug for counselors- $299 (currently do not have a rug)

Supplies for counselors (play dough, journals, and sensory sand)- $128.00

2 atomic wall clocks (1 for teachers lounge and 1 for cafeteria - to synchronize clocks for proper dismissal)- $160.00 

1 Goldman Fristoe 3 testing kit (for speech)- $308.00

Gold seals for report cards to recognize Honor Roll, All A's, and Perfect Citizenship- $180.00

$300.00 on recess equipment (jump ropes, balls, etc & cart for storage and transportation)

Chromebook charging cart (current cart is not appropriate for chromebooks) $1375

up to $6,000.00 on fiction and non fiction guided reading books for our book room. (Full list $5869.25 for approximately 900 books.)

Totals $11,145

Balance of surplus to be used to balance budget for 2017-2018 based on reductions in company gifts projections (Martin’s closing).
