CCPS Literacy Fair for parents Oct. 29, 2018

Do you want to support your child's literacy learning? Come to the Chesterfield County Public Schools Literacy Fair on October 29th from 5:45-8:15 p.m. at the Chesterfield Technical Center, 13900 Hull Street Rd. Midlothian, VA 23112! Attend workshops such as:

  • Dyslexia Awareness

  • Igniting Your Child's LOVE of reading!

  • Foster, Understand, and Nurture Creativity and Thinking at Home

  • Exploring Culture & Social Perspectives through Young Adult Literature

  • Orton-Gillingham Simulations for Elementary and Secondary

  • What Does Your Reading Autobiography Look Like?

  • Read 180/System 44 Simulation for Secondary

  • Culture & Social Perspectives through Young Adult Literature

  • Transitions in Reading

  • Developing Social-Emotional Skills through Picture Books K-5 Families

  • Parent Perspectives on Dyslexia Forum

Feel free to attend the event in its entirety, or stop in to meet vendors, hear the keynote, or attend a workshop session or two.

Vendors will also be on site including Virginia Branch-International Dyslexia Association (IDA), RVA Basics, CCPL, Decoding Dyslexia, and Read 180.

Event timeline-

5:45-6:30- Vendor Exploration

6:30--6:45- Keynote: Raising Readers

6:50-7:30- Workshop Session 1

7:35-8:15- Workshop Session 2

This Engage Chesterfield event is sponsored by Chesterfield County Public School's Office of Family and Community Engagement in collaboration with the Department of Special Education and the Department of Teaching and Learning.
