Chromebook Distribution Timeline
November 2013
As the first step in the process of purchasing mobile computing devices for middle school students, Chesterfield County releases a request for proposal to gather bids from vendors. The RFP outlines the purchase, distribution and service requirements of Chromebooks for middle school students in Chesterfield County Public Schools.

December 2013
Vendors have the opportunity to submit bids to satisfy the RFP.

January 2014
Chesterfield County evaluates the bids and selects a vendor.

February-March 2014
Chesterfield County develops and finalizes a contract with the selected vendor and purchases Chromebooks for middle school students.

April-May 2014
Distribution procedures and dates are finalized and communicated to middle schools.

June-July 2014
Chromebooks are prepared for students and delivered to schools.

September 8-23, 2014
Middle school students in Chesterfield County Public Schools receive Chromebooks.

October-November 2014
CCPS offered 5 nightly Camp Chromebook for Parents sessions to enlighten the community on the usage of technology (Chromebooks) in Chesterfield County Public Schools. 

April-May 2015
Distribution procedures and dates are finalized and communicated to high schools.

May - June 2015
Chromebooks are collected from middle school student for a summer refresh of devices.

June-July 2015
Chromebooks are prepared for students and delivered to schools.

August 2015
Middle and High school teachers in Chesterfield County will volunteer their time over three days to attend Camp Chromebook.  During these three days, teachers will learn valuable skills and information on how best to use Chromebooks to enhance student learning.

September 2015
Middle and High school students in Chesterfield County Public Schools will receive Chromebooks.

October 2015
CCPS offered 3 nightly Camp Chromebook for Parents sessions to enlighten the community on the usage of technology (Chromebooks) in Chesterfield County Public Schools.
