How much is the Secondary Chromebook fee?
The mobile device fee is $50 per student per year. This is part of the School Board's fees-and-charges schedule that is set each year in accordance School Board Policy 3080.

What is the cost of a lost or broken device?
Consequences for lost, stolen and intentionally damaged devices are outlined in the mobile device agreement, which is signed by the student and parent or guardian at the beginning of each school year.

What if my family can't afford the $50 fee?
Families that need financial assistance should contact their school principal. School Board policy 3080 states that principals may "reduce or waive fees for economically disadvantaged students and students whose families are undergoing economic hardships and are financially unable to pay them."

Also, Chromebooks will take the place of many other school supplies and schools have made every attempt to cut back school supply lists. This may help offset the mobile device fee.
