Will I have to pay the Chromebook fee every year?
The Chromebook is a required device chosen by Chesterfield County Schools which will allow the school system to monitor use and push applications out for classwork. The school division cannot provide the same level of safety and security with personal devices.
The fee covers all expenses for accidental damage at school and home. Additionally, we are paying for constant web filtering whether at school or home and weekend support to ensure connectivity to learning applications. Chromebooks are being leased for three years and students will see newer models when moving from middle school to high school and after the initial lease period.
