Virginia’s seventh annual back-to-school sales tax holiday is set for Aug. 3-5, according to a news release from Gov. Bob McDonnell’s office.
Most school supplies costing $20 or less per item and footwear priced at $100 or less will be exempt from Virginia’s 5 percent sales tax, as well as any local sales tax.
Tax-exempt items include pens, pencils, notebook paper, scissors, binders, backpacks, construction paper, sneakers, dresses, jeans and T-shirts.
