Welcome to the Army JROTC Cavalier Battalion

The mission of Carroll County High School JROTC is to help the high school students become responsible citizens.

The JROTC Battalion provides an atmosphere designed to develop the qualities of leadership. Through classroom and other instructional activities, cadets gain self-discipline, patriotism, and a sense of responsibility, that will enable them to better serve their country as a leader, a private citizen, or a member of the military.

The Junior ROTC program in Carroll County is under the instruction of the Senior Army Instructor LTC Carper (Retired) and the Army Instructor SFC (Retired) O'Keeffe.

Carroll County's JROTC battalion has achieved the status of Honor Unit with Distinction for the past 16 years. This means the program scored at least 96 percent in each of a six part annual report card called the Unit Report, and scored a minimum of 576 out of 600 on the tri-annual Formal Inspection. Carroll County JROTC also fields teams in Leadership, Physical Fitness, Color Guard, Marksmanship, and Raiders that practice weekly and compete in competitions throughout the year.
