Library Support

CCISD Technology Systems understands libraries are the information hub of the schools. A strong partnership is vital to ensure school libraries are equipped with the appropriate technology to include hardware and software to run an effective library. Librarians are indeed the leaders of the digital age. Not only will librarians continue to maintain traditional library services, they will lead the way as emerging technologies and the power of digital media transform learning opportunities for students.

Library Technology Standards

Libraries need standard technology just like classrooms. Students will need to collaborate and share information using computing and display devices. CCISD will make great efforts to equip libraries with computers and mobile technology.

Below is a list of technology hardware that is or will become a standard for all CCISD libraries.

Computer Labs - Labs are essential to all schools to  meet the demands of online testing, access to digital information and to extend the learning outside the classroom.

Interactive Flat Panel TVs - Each library should be equipped with a mobile interactive flat panel TV that is connected to a laptop for sharing information with larger audiences. Librarians can use the interactive software to engage and motivate students during learning activities.
Library Software for Books and Inventory

CCISD uses a program known as Insignia. This program provides several modules to include cataloging, circulation, patrons, reports, inventory, assets, collection analysis, textbooks and acquisitions.
