I am currently a post-doc at the University of Fribourg.

My research studies totally disconnected locally compact groups through their interaction with certain geometric and harmonic analytic objects. These concepts relate the ergodic theory of locally compact groups to the theory of unitary representations. The geometric objects involved are trees, buildings and CAT(0) spaces. From the harmonic analytic point of view I study the Howe-Moore property, and the Hecke algebras, Gelfand pairs and the von Neumann algebras associated to locally compact groups. Apart from this research topic, I am interested in questions from geometrically finite Kleinian groups.
