Parents' Duty Rules
  1. Except for teachers, all patents are required to do the parent duty. Based on the size of the class, you may be assigned for parent duty on multiple days.
  2. If you are not able to make it on the day you are assigned, you may exchange the duty date with another parent in the same class.
  3. If you are unable to do your duty, or exchange with another parent, partial or all your parent duty deposit will not be refundable.
  4. The goal is to keep our student safe and to make our school a pleasant learning place.
Responsibilities of Parents on Duty
  • Prior to the start of the class, please sign in, and pick up a badge at the front desk.
  • Let the home class teacher know that you are available for help, such as making copies and taking small kids to the restrooms when the class is in session.
  • All patients on duty need to stay for all 3 classes (2-5 pm) or otherwise discuss with the class teacher. For K and first grade classes, the parent needs to stay on duty in the home classroom 2-4pm and 4-5pm in the classroom where the home classroom teacher is.
  • Parents on duty could sit in and listen to the lessons, please inform the teacher before sitting in the class.
  • While listening to the lesson, please keep your cell phone power off and sit in the back of the classroom. Please do not speak with your child, nor leave the classroom while the class is in session.
  • While not listening to a lesson, parents on duty should stay near the home classroom, especially during recess, to watch over the students for their safety and keep the hallway quiet at all times. Please keep the students from running in the hallway. There may be other classes in session during the GCCS class time.
  • Clean up the classrooms, which include picking up trash on the floor, rearranging tables and chairs, turning off the projector and computer system, and erasing the blackboard after school.
  • At the end of the on-duty day, please sign out by signing on the parent duty list of the home class teacher’s, and return the badge to the front desk.
