Linly Heflin Scholarship 2019

The Linly Heflin Scholarship Committee receives applications in the fall each year from Alabama women seeking help with their undergraduate degree at 4-year accredited Alabama colleges and universities. The scholarships award $6,000 per year for four years or until graduation, whichever comes first, and high school seniors through college juniors may apply. Specific criteria are used in the selection process and students must maintain a minimum G.P.A. to continue receiving the scholarship.

Montevallo Preview Day & Scholarships

The University of Montevallo will be offering a Fall Preview Day on Saturday, October 6, 2018.  Preview days are a great way to learn more about the university!  Students may register to attend at montevallo.edu/previewday .  The deadline to register is October 4th.

UM offers a variety of scholarship opportunities.  Academic based awards start with a 3.0 GPA and 23 on the ACT.

UWA Preview Days & Scholarships

The University of West Alabama has a lot to offer!

Check them out at www.uwa.edu .

If you would like to visit, they will be offering two Fall Preview Days.  On preview days prospective students can speak with professors, tour the campus, ask about financial aid, explore scholarship opportunities, and attend an athletic event.

Coca-Cola Scholarship 2018/19

The Coca-Cola Scholars Program Scholarship

The Coca-Cola Scholars Program scholarship is an achievement-based scholarship awarded to graduating high school seniors. Students are recognized for their capacity to lead and serve, as well as their commitment to making a significant impact on their schools and communities. With the 30th class in 2018, the Foundation has provided over 6,000 Coca-Cola Scholars with more than $66 million in educational support. 150 Coca-Cola Scholars are selected each year to receive this $20,000 scholarship. 

The application is open! 

Students who will be graduating in the 2018-2019 academic school year may apply at https://webportalapp.com/sp/login/ccsf  through Wednesday, October 31, 2018, at 5:00 p.m.

BBB 2018 Torch Scholarship

The Better Business Bureau of North Alabama has announced their 2018 scholarship program.  Both junior and senior students are eligible. The local scholarship is for $1,000 each. (The number of scholarships awarded will be determined by the scholarship funds received.)   Judges will select the scholarship recipients based on their overall personal integrity and character, their personal achievements, contributions to their communities and schools, and academic accomplishments.  The scholarship guidelines are as follows:

 

·         There is no cost to enter;

·         Applicants must complete online application form;

·         Applicants must write an essay between 300 and 400 words;

·         A current official transcript is required (Request from Mrs. Yearwood by Sept. 6)

·         150 Entries will be accepted based on the order in which they are received by BBB.

·         Deadline for completed forms and essays is Friday, September 14, 2018 before 3:00PM;

·         After judges evaluate entries, scholarships in the amount of $1,000 will be awarded to students selected. The scholarship will be made payable to the college or university of which the student enrolls. The Scholarship Fund will determine the number of scholarships awarded. 

·         Winners will be notified prior to luncheon.

·         Students will be asked to attend the BBB’s 2018 Torch Awards for Ethics Luncheon to accept their award.  They are allowed 2 guests to accompany them.  The Luncheon will be held Thursday, November 9, 2018 at 11:30AM at The Jackson Center in Huntsville.

 

This is the Bureau’s 17th year to present scholarships.  A total of 78 have been presented in the last 16 years.  The link to the online entry form is: https://betterbusinessbureauofnorthalabama.wufoo.com/forms/2018-torch-scholarship-application/.  

In addition, students may mail or hand deliver official transcripts which are required for each entry submitted.

College Fair - Sept. 10, 2018

The Cullman/Blount County College Fair will be Monday, September 10th from 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm. 

This event is FREE and you might even win a DOOR PRIZE!  Come talk to college representatives from around the state and see what they have to offer.
