Introduction

Since several years, other pharmacologically relevant constituents of the Cannabis plant, apart from Δ9-THC, have come into the focus of research and legislation. The most prominent of those is cannabidiol (CBD). In contrast to Δ9-THC, it is nonintoxicating, but exerts a number of beneficial pharmacological effects. For instance, it is anxiolytic, anti-inflammatory, antiemetic, and antipsychotic. Moreover, neuroprotective properties have been shown.1,2 Consequently, it could be used at high doses for the treatment of a variety of conditions ranging in psychiatric disorders such as schizophrenia and dementia, as well as diabetes and nausea.1,2

At lower doses, it has physiological effects that promote and maintain health, including antioxidative, anti-inflammatory, and neuroprotection effects. For instance, CBD is more effective than vitamin C and E as a neuroprotective antioxidant and can ameliorate skin conditions such as acne.3,4

Multimorbidity
is commonly defined as the presence of two or more chronic medical conditions in an individual and it can present
several challenges in care particularly with higher numbers of coexisting conditions and related polypharmacy.

Polypharmacy
is the concurrent use of multiple medications by a patient.

at 1:15:00 the question arises about CBD

CBD is the acronym for Cannabidiol

Cannabidiol... The Acronym =  (CBD)

If you have found yourself asking, “What is CBD?”, look no further. Cannabidiol (CBD) is one of at least 85 cannabinoids found in cannabis and industrial hemp. It is a major constituent of the plant, and represents up to 40% in its extracts. It is the decarboxylated form of CBDa (the ‘a’ means acid). Compared with THC, cannabidiol is considered to have a broader scope of medical applications than THC. Cannabidiol has displayed sedative effects in animal tests. Other research indicates that CBD increases alertness. CBD has been shown to reduce growth of aggressive human breast cancer cells in vitro, and to reduce their invasiveness [source].

CBD also promotes and supports the nutritional health of aging bodies. Source: US Government patent on Cannabinoids as Antioxidants and Neuroprotectants #6,630,507

ABOUT CBD

CBD is an acronym for cannabidiol, a prominent naturally-occurring cannabinoid component found in cannabis that comprises up to 40% of the plant. Cannabidiol is “a cannabinoid devoid of psychoactive effect. ” After THC (Δ9-tetrahydrocannabinol), CBD is by far the most studied natural cannabinoid. According to many researchers, CBD may be the single most important cannabinoid ever discovered.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the endocannabinoid system?
The endocannabinoid system (ECS) is one of science’s newest and most exciting discoveries. The ECS regulates relaxation, eating, sleeping, certain inflammation responses and even cognitive function. There are two types of cannabinoid receptors found throughout the body (CB1 and CB2), but they are most abundant in the brain and immune system respectively. In a nutshell, your ECS is responsible for making sure your entire body is working optimally—no small task!

Why would hemp (instead of marijuana) be grown for cannabidiol (CBD)?
Industrial hemp is already rich in CBD and naturally low in THC, whereas most marijuana is just the opposite (high THC, low CBD). Our industrial hemp is considered Cannabis sativa L., although we have developed our own unique cultivars of this particular type of industrial hemp.

Through a combination of these unique cultivars, advanced plant genetics, and cutting-edge growing techniques, an exceptionally high percentage of CBD can be produced naturally and consistently in the hemp plant. When CBD-rich hemp oil is extracted from these hemp cultivars—which can be grown in dozens of countries and imported to the USA legally—it doesn’t make legal or practical sense to obtain CBD from marijuana.

Will CBD help me with my illness?
Due to FDA regulations, we cannot make claims about whether or not CBD can help with specific ailments. We do, however, suggest that you conduct your own research.

Will CBD help me if I’m healthy?
Each individual is unique and has different wellness goals they are interested in addressing through the consumption and application of our products. Although some of our founders are medical professionals, we cannot make medical claims about the benefits of our products. The products sold from this website are considered nutritional supplements or personal care products, according to FDA guidelines.

We encourage you to discuss CBD with your physician or healthcare practitioner if you have any specific health-related questions or concerns. There are also many independent, peer-reviewed studies about CBD available on the internet.

Are CBD and THC the same thing?
No, they are different compounds. CBD and THC are both cannabinoids, but THC is the cannabinoid that gets you “high” or “stoned.” CBD is non-psychoactive, meaning it won’t get you “high.”

Can I get high from CBD products?
Our CBD comes from carefully-cultivated hemp plants—not marijuana—which is why it is legal for us to import and use this CBD-rich oil. Our parent company spent years developing special cultivars of the hemp that produce naturally high levels of CBD and only trace amounts of THC, the psychoactive compound that gives marijuana users the “high” feeling. In comparison to hemp, most recreational cannabis plants have between 5% to over 20% THC.

Can you make any claims about what CBD can do?
No. Our CBD-rich hemp oil products can fall into two different categories depending on how they are marketed and sold: they can be considered a food or a nutritional supplement. Our CBD is a natural constituent of industrial hemp oil.

The CBD found in our CBD gum and RSHO Oil is extracted via an advanced steam distillation process from high CBD industrial hemp.
