I have been teaching science for 23 years, 22 of those at Maiden High School. I graduated from Bandys High School. I have a bachelor’s degree in Biology from UNC-Charlotte, got my teaching certification from Lenoir Rhyne, and am National Board Certified. I have an Environmental Educator Certification through the NC Department of the Environment and Natural Resources. I have taught AP Environmental Science, Biology, Physical Science, Earth Science, Astronomy, and NC Wildlife. I live in Lincoln County and am married with two kids that go to North Lincoln High School.
I just completed my 26th year in education in both public and private schools, grades 5-12. Currently, I teach Math 2 and 3 at St. Stephens High School. I am a graduate of Western Carolina University (NC Teaching Fellow), Appalachian State University, and Liberty University; holding a Bachelor’s degree in Middle Grades Education concentrations in mathematics and science, a Master’s degree in Special Education with a concentration in learning disabilities (k-12), and an Education Specialist degree in curriculum and instruction. I am pursuing an Educational Doctorate in curriculum and instruction from Liberty University and hope to graduate next spring.
My husband and I have a blended family of 6 children and have 8 adorable grandchildren. We are active in the music ministry at our church; where I serve as choir director, pianist, and sing with my family on a worship team.
