I am a Catawba County native. I went to Bandys High School followed by college at UNC-Chapel Hill. I graduated from UNC-Chapel Hill with a B.S. in Biology and a Chemistry minor. My teaching career began at Fred T. Foard in 2003-2004 where I started out as a lateral entry teacher. I went on to get a MAEd. in Science Education from ECU and National Board certification in Chemistry. I moved to Bunker Hill in the 2013-2014 school year. I mostly teach Chemistry, but I also teach Physics and AP Environmental Science every year and Biology or Physical Science as needed.
I am a graduate of UNCC. I started my teaching career in 1999 teaching science at West Lincoln HIgh School. I have taught all the science over my career. I left West Lincoln in 2013 to teach at Discovery HIgh school. I currently teach honors Biology and AP Environmental Science.
I graduated from Appalachian State University in 2004 with a degree in Athletic Training. I became a Certified Athletic Trainer in 2005 and since then I have worked in a physical therapy clinic setting, high school athletic setting, and with college athletics. I attended The Citadel and earned a Masters degree in Teaching Biology in 2007. After graduation from The Citadel in 2007, I began teaching and have taught in South Carolina, New Hampshire and am currently at St. Stephens High School. I have taught Health Science 1, Health Science 2, Anatomy & Physiology, Biology 1, Earth Science, Sports Medicine, Physical Science, Biology 2, and AP Biology. Prior to attending Appalachian State University, I was an Aviation Support Equipment Mechanic in the United States Marine Corps. In my spare time, I enjoy watching my monkey compete in gymnastics.
