Math

I received my B.A. in Math Education from Lenoir-Rhyne College and my M.A. in Math Education from Appalachian State University. I just completed my 21st year teaching mathematics. The first ten years were at Hickory High School, and the last eleven years have been at Fred T. Foard High School. I am a Regional Trainer through Texas Instruments, and I serve on the Board of Directors for the MELT (Mathematics Education Leadership Training) Program through Appalachian State University. I have taught all levels of secondary mathematics, with AP Statistics, Honors Discrete Math, and Math 3 being the most frequent assignments. I am co-advisor of FCA at my school and am active in my home church with teaching Sunday School.

I have been married for almost 19 years, and I have two children: Eli (age 7) and Abby (age 5). I enjoy spending time with my family, particularly being active outdoors. I spend some of my recreation time hiking, golfing, and fishing.
