Lodge Goals
2023-2024 Goals/Strategic Plan
Vision Statement:
We, the Executive Board of Catawba Lodge for 2023-2024, do hereby promise to promote a sense of Brotherhood for members of the Lodge, both new and returning.
As Scouting's National Honor Society, we will provide an enriching experience for each Arrowman in the Lodge and will continue to foster a spirit of excellence, service, fellowship, growth, and devotion to the high ideals of Scouting. The Lodge will continue to maintain the meaningful and healthy relationships that we have established with our community, Council, and Section through brotherhood and cheerful service. From Chapters to the National level, we will represent Catawba Lodge in a spirited manner as we strive to build our legacy.
Lodge Goals - 2023-24
To institute a bimonthly Lodge legend.
To make ordeals more enjoyable by adding new engaging activities to the schedule.
Raise awareness across the council about involvement opportunities and reach inactive troops and arrowmen by utilizing OA troop reps and attending district round tables.
To encourage further involvement of new members, following their Ordeals for a greater than 40% Brotherhood conversion rate.
To maintain a strong representation of our Lodge at sectional and national events.
To maintain a strong lodge presence at District and Council events.
To create an active roster of the OA Troop Representatives and adult unit advisors to increase the amount of Troop representatives across the Council.
To charge Lodge Officers and Chairpersons to develop an archive of resources by September LEB meeting, and to provide mentorship for their future successors.
To maintain a stable Elangomat and Nimat recruitment and training process throughout the year.
For Elangomats to keep open communication with past candidates and encourage those able to seal their membership.
To continue the Lodge's successful history with Scouting for Food.
To determine Site Coordinators and other logistical information for Scouting for Food by January LEB.
To publish LEB minutes on a routine schedule to the Catawba Lodge website in accordance to the By-Laws (10 days).
To continue and support a functional and growing Frontier Village.
To continue our designation as a "Thriving" Lodge by National standards for Lodge Performance Measurement Program.
To require 3 youths and 2 adults from each Chapter to set up the teepee poles the weekend prior to Fall Fellowship and 3 youths and 2 adult from each Chapter to set the canvas' up the Thursday prior.
Strive to place top 3 at Conclave 2024 by increasing spirit and preparation.
Win the spirit award at Conclave for the third year in a row.
To review and evaluate our goals quarterly for 15 minutes at LEB meetings.
To successfully host Conclave in 2024.
Mission of the Lodge - 2023-2024
The mission of the Lodge is to achieve the purpose of the Order of the Arrow as an integral part of the Boy Scouts of America in the Council through positive youth leadership under the guidance of selected capable adults.
