Staff

Library Director - Kim Davis

Kim Davis grew up right here in Medina County and has been a life long resident. She is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin with dual majors in Psychology & Sociology.

She is an avid sports fan, loves animals, and enjoys going to the local car show Friday nights. Don't be surprised when you stop in to the library and see her wandering around with either kids or dogs in tow!

IT Department/Webmaster - Gerardo James Flores II

Gerardo, or “Jerry” as most call him, is the youngest of the staff. Originally a volunteer, he became a Junior Friend of the Library and is now an employee.

Jerry handles the technology around the library. He is  responsible for server maintenance as well as the patron computers.

Jerry keeps up with the Library's web presence on Twitter and MySpace. Jerry plans to further his education by getting a degree in Software Engineering.

Full Time Librarian - Cathy Prazak

Raised in a military family, Cathy has traveled the world and has only recently settled in the San Antonio, TX. In 2008, she graduated from UTSA with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology. She graduated in August 2010 with a Master of Science in Information Studies (MSIS) degree from the University of Texas at Austin, a program focusing on library science. While in the past, Cathy has primarily worked at larger libraries, she is very excited to be getting to know the ins and outs of our small library and its friendly patrons. She brings with her new and exciting ideas for library events, programming and collection development.

Volunteer Services Director Doris Uhl

Doris Uhl works so hard around the library one would think she’s a full time employee.

She is in fact a volunteer at the library and her energy and determined work ethic stand as an exemplary model for the rest of the staff.

Doris Uhl’s organization skills and her ability to keep everyone on task make her an invaluable asset to the Castroville Library.

Congratulations to Doris on being the 2010 AALS Volunteer of the Year for Libraries of 10,000 or less. We are very proud of you!

Youth Services Coordinator

Debbie Krueger is our new Youth Services Coordinator. She has been very active with our Junior Friends in the past, working with them on leadership skills, teaching them how to create lesson plans, and many other skills to help them run the Library's summer camps. She is now in charge of all of our Youth Services, and brings her skills of organization and coordination to make sure all of our children's and youth programs run smoothly.
