About Ms. Lucas

Welcome to Ms. Lucas's 2nd Grade Class!

My name is Cynthia Lucas and I am in my 28th year of teaching. I have taught grades K-5. I received my Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education from the University of North Dakota, my Master's Degree in Elementary Education from Troy State University, and my Specialist's Degree in Educational Administration and Supervision from Columbus State University.

I am originally from Phenix City, Alabama. I began my teaching career across the Chattahoochee River from there in Columbus, GA in 1989. I taught there for 18 years at three different schools. I began teaching at Carrollton Elementary in August 2007. I taught third grade when I first arrived here and I am now in my fourth year of teaching second grade. I am also a Site Coordinator for the P.A.L.S. 21 CCLC grant program. I love being a Trojan!

I have two adult children, Ashley and Brent. Ashley is married to Trey and they have two children (Aubrey and Jackson). Brent is married to Meredith and they also have two children (Sophie and Garrett). I enjoy being a MiMi to these adorable grandchildren!

I enjoy reading, watching movies, and gardening for relaxation! I am also an avid Auburn Football fan. War Eagle!

I am so excited to have your child in my class this year! I look forward to a great year at the Best School in the Universe. Together, we can W.I.N.!!!!
