About the Teacher


Lisa Phillips

Lisa Phillips is beginning her 10th year at Carrollton City Schools, but her 26th year in education.  Mrs. Phillips received her Bachelor’s degree in finance from the University of West Georgia.  While at UWG, she played intercollegiate basketball and softball earning all conference in both sports.  Coach Phillips was the first player in UWG history to earn all conference in two sports the same year.  Following her playing career, she served as a graduate assistant in the UWG women's basketball program, she completed her Master's degree in Business Education.   In addition, she completed her specialist degree in Educational Leadership at Jacksonville State University.  Coach Phillips began as a business education teacher and coach at Villa Rica HS.  She served as the varsity head basketball coach and assistant softball coach.  She also taught and coached at Bremen HS serving as the varsity head coach in both basketball and softball.  In 1996, her softball team went undefeated (30-0) to win the GHSA State Softball Championship.  From 1998-2001, she served as an assistant principal at Villa Rica High School.  She returned to Bremen High School from 2001-2005 to serve as the CTAE coordinator and head softball coach before becoming a Trojan in 2006.     Coach Phillips splits her time teaching in both the CTAE business education and physical education departments at Carrollton High School.  Coach Phillips recently won her 400th sfotball game while leading Carrollton HS to its first ever Elite 8 appearance (3rd place).  She is married to Terry Jay Phillips.  They have 4 children:  Eric Jay, Randi, Ryan Jay, and Anthony.
