Hi everyone!  It's nice to meet you!  I'm Kelly Jones, a native of Huntsville, AL, and long-time resident of Carrollton, GA. I hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from the University of Alabama in Huntsville, and am working on my Master of Arts in Teaching: Special Education at the University of West Georgia. I work as a full-time inclusion co-teacher here at Carrollton High School.  My focus area is secondary math, specifically Analytic Geometry.  I am blessed to be part of a fabulous Special Education department, as well as a fabulous Math department.

I am often asked why I've taken this turn in my career, from nursing into education.... It's been a natural progression for me.  After many years working as a Registered Nurse, I was blessed to stay home with our daughters when they were little.  Volunteering in their elementary school classes led to my working in our school system, and eventually to a full-time career as an educator.  My background in nursing brings a deep well of experience to draw from, as well as a deep compassion for my students with disabilities and their families. I am strongly committed to the philosophy that every student has a right to an education, and every student has a right to access that education at his or her unique level of ability.

I am beginning my 12th year working in our school system, and I've worn many different hats.  I've been a long-term sub, a media center assistant, a front-office receptionist in the elementary school, junior high school, and CCS board office, a wing secretary, an administrative assistant to the high school band director, a special education paraprofessional, and I've run dispatch at the bus barn!  I've seen a lot of change, and met a lot of fabulous students, parents, and grandparents along the way. My husband and I have two wonderful daughters, ages 16 and 20.  They're both juniors - one in high school, the other in college.  We are all proud to be long-time members of the Trojan Nation!
