My name is Erin Porter. I was born and raised here in Carrollton, GA. I attended Carrollton City Schools and then went on and graduated from The University of West Georgia where I earned my degree in Early Childhood Education. I have taught here at CES since graduating college where I have had the opportunity to teach special education, second grade, and now first grade.
I married my high school sweetheart in 2010, Jim Porter. Jim is from Heard County and he is currently a deputy sheriff in Heard County. We are blessed with two children. Gus is our ball throwing, outside playing, Curious George loving little boy and Elsie Jo is our calm, sweet, tender hearted little girl. We attend Carrollton First United Methodist Church. When I am not teaching I am spending time with my family. I love being a mommy and all that comes with that. Our family enjoys playing outside, fishing, camping, and making memories together. I also enjoy cooking, interior decorating (which usually consists of army men and Legos on the living room floor), and shopping for my kiddos.
Teaching is not a job for me it is a calling. The job that I have is one where I am here to work for the Lord, it is not for my own personal gain. I feel privileged every year when I get to meet my new class. I have been entrusted by God, and by parent's to love, nurture, and provide the best educational experience I possibly can for each child. I promise to pour my heart into being an educator and advocate for each child I get the opportunity to work with. I am grateful that I am a member of the Trojan Family and that I get to teach in the best school in the universe.
Your child is your world and I am just a small piece of that. Having open communication about your child and their learning experience is so very important to me. Please feel free to contact me.
