Carrabec High School Library

New eBook Collection: Sora by Overdrive

Our new SORA subscription gives you access to the Maine Schools Shared Collection of eBooks (and there are a few audiobooks too!) If an item is already in use, you can place a hold on it through the app.

This is our new eBooks database through overdrive. Check it out. You can use the link above as long as you are logged into your Carrabec email. OR...Log into your email, go to the nine dots in the top right hand side, and scroll all the way down to "SORA by Overdrive".

If you want to check out an eBook, just click on it and start reading. Please let me know if there are any specific titles that you would like me to try and purchase for the collection. Also, if you need help getting to this (or any resources), please give me a call or send an email!

Remote Students: Would you like to borrow a book from our school library, but can't get to the high school? Just use the book index to find what you want- and send me an email ( Let me know what you would like, and which food delivery bus stop is closest to you- and I will make sure it gets there! You can return books the same way. Just let the driver know which school the book belongs to.

Covid-19 Plan and Procedures:

As school reopens, our library has been preparing to meet the challenges to still provide services as safely as possible.

For everyone's health and safety, we ask the following:

Everyone entering the library needs to wear a face mask over their mouth and nose.

Everyone needs to sanitize their hands as they enter the library.

All returned items will be left untouched for three days, and be available for checkout on the fourth day.

Students who are in the library need to maintain a safe distance from each other at all times. We have arranged the tables and chairs

to be the right distance apart. Please do not move any of the furniture without permission.

The photocopy area is still available for use. Please sanitize your hands before handling the machines, the stapler, 3-hole punch, or

any other equipment.

Chicks in the Library

A big THANK YOU to all of the students and staff who made the Hatch-a-long a big success! This was a great learning experience across many subject areas. Please stop in for a "peep" at our babies every spring.

Library Dedication: The new CHS library was dedicated to long-time English teacher Patty Reid. Patty was an incredible educator and champion for literacy. She was also an avid reader and expert on English Anglo--Saxon/Medieval history. We are extremely proud to have her name on our library.

Attention all students:

FREE SYNC Audiobooks for Teens this summer!
