The Carmel Media Center's mission is to facilitate an environment which encourages students, staff, and the Carmel Christian community in being 21st-century navigators of information. Specifically, the media center seeks to promote life-long reading and supports the curriculum of Carmel Christian School by following the practices of 21st century standards as set forth by the American Library Association. We seek to encourage a culture of learning which exposes students to a variety of authors, genres and topics for their personal enrichment, spiritual growth and enjoyment while also introducing new technologies and online resources.





Collection & Review Policy

The Carmel Media Center will develop a collection that supports the curriculum of the K-12 Carmel Christian School, Wee School, and Carmel Church. The collection will be diverse and easily accessible for patrons while supporting the Carmel Media Center mission statement. The mission statement is, “The mission statement is, “The Carmel Media Center's mission is to facilitate an environment which encourages students, staff, and the Carmel Christian community in being 21st-century navigators of information. Materials added to the Carmel Media Center are reviewed by Carmel Media Center staff. Staff evaluates if the materials donated or bought reflect the collection development policy and support the Carmel Media Center mission statement.  Donations are accepted and reviewed by Carmel Media Center staff. Donations will be evaluated as to if they support the collection development and may be added to the collection. Donations which do not support the collection development plan may support the Carmel Media Center by being utilized in a book sale or donated for store credit at a local bookstore. Books which can not be utilized in such a manner are donated to a missions effort to support libraries in Guyana, South America. If you wish to challenge a particular book, please fill out the following form and all forms are reviewed by Media Center staff.
